Now that I am retired, I am an income-oriented investor seeking high-yielding income to support my retirement. A keen interest arose, and at that time I received an unexpected inheritance. Since then, I’ve done quite a bit of research and vowed to make smarter long-term investing decisions after the Great Recession and to minimize losses on the portfolio I inherited after firing my financial advisor. I primarily look for dividend-paying income stocks and funds (BDCs, REITs, CEFs, ETFs) that provide high-yielding income to supplement my retirement income beyond my pension and Social Security. I also enjoy reading investment/financial and business news and tracking technology and market trends. To me, the human psychology of markets is as fascinating and difficult to understand as the financial aspects.
