Prince Harry’s lawyers announced on Wednesday that he had reached a settlement with Rupert Murdoch’s British tabloids over allegations of illegal information gathering, an abrupt and anticlimactic end to a case that Harry had seen as a way for the tabloids to A last chance to take responsibility for years of looting.
The settlement, announced a day after a long-awaited trial is scheduled to begin, shields News Corp newspapers from damaging testimony about phone hacking and other illegal methods the company allegedly used more than a decade ago Illegal methods to search for information about Harry and other famous figures. It also spared King Charles III’s youngest son Harry, 40, from heavy financial risk regardless of his performance in court.
