A fight in the national cheerleading game in Dallas caused panic on Saturday and was injured for those trying to escape the chaos.
Dallas police said a fight at the NCA All-Star Championship resulted in multiple shots and caused panic inside the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center. Authorities said at least 10 people were injured and tried to evacuate the facility.

Witnesses told Fox 4 News that the beating pole made a huge noise and triggered reports of gunfire inside the conference center. Police said no shooting occurred, but the audience ran around the conference center as a “stampede”.
“I was a little nervous. I thought I was doing a great job and then we got here and it was just taking a deep breath and let’s do it for the kids,” Danielle Garvin, the cheerleader who participated in the competition, told the station.
Police said the injured person was reportedly suffering bumps, bruises and even fractures.

Some performances at the NCA All-Star Championship were cancelled and the game resumed on Sunday. The radio reported that after the incident, some teams decided not to participate in the competition.
Tiana Cody told Fox 4 News that her daughter decided to perform on Sunday.
“She has no pressure, I have no pressure, it feels like a community, and I’m glad to have that community,” she said. “Cheer is not just bows and arrows, flashes and fun. It’s a culture, and the culture of cheering is that they are resilient and can bear it.”
