Offices and organizations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties have begun canceling regular office hours and events as the likelihood of snow and temperatures dropping into the teens increases early next week.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Pensacola area and said the area has a 50% chance of 1 to 3 inches of snow on Tuesday. If there is no snow, there will be freezing rain and ice accumulation.
A winter storm watch for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties is in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The University of West Florida closed all locations Tuesday, including all classes, events, campus events and online courses. University officials will monitor the weather and update the community on Wednesday’s forecast.

ECUA offices will be closed Tuesday. Additionally, a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting scheduled for the day has been cancelled. The next CAC meeting will be held on February 18th.
ECUA sanitation collections will be delayed by one day. Tuesday’s collection will take place on Wednesday, and all subsequent collections will take place the day after the week. Friday’s collection will be completed on Saturday.
