Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman finds death with his wife and dog at their New Mexico home

Santa Fe, New Mexico (AP) – Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, his wife and their dog were found dead at his home in New Mexico, authorities said Thursday.

There was no suspected foul, but authorities did not release his death and said an investigation was underway.

Denise Avila, a spokesman for the Santafe County Sheriff’s Office, said Hackman, 95, died with his wife, Betsy Arakawa and their dog when deputies made welfare checks at home around 1:45 p.m.

The rude but Groft Hackman is one of the best actors of his generation, starting in the 1960s and playing villains, heroes and anti-heroes in dozens of drama, comedy, and action movies until his retirement in the early 2000s.

He has been nominated for the Academy Award five times and has won 21 years with “French Connection” and “Not Forgiveness”. His death was four days before the ceremony this year.

The couple’s home is located in a gated community outside the New Mexico capital. Hackman moved to the area in the 1980s, often seen in town, and served on the board of directors of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Georgia in the 1990s.

He rarely saw him on the Hollywood Social Tour except for appearing at awards ceremony and retired 20 years ago. He is truly ongoing Hollywood retirement.

In his later years, he wrote novels on the Mountain Top Ranch, enjoying views of the Rocky Mountains.
