North Carolina football general manager insists Bill Belichick will stay at school, says NFL may become too political
North Carolina Tar Heels football general manager Michael Lombardi stressed that Bill Belichick has no intention of leaving the program for the NFL.
Belichick was rumored to be interested in some NFL positions, and a few weeks later he decided to attend college for the first time in his career. Belichick replaced Mike Brown as North Carolina’s head coach after decades with the New England Patriots.

Lombardi, who was in the program with Belichick, has said multiple times that Belichick will not leave the Tar Heels. He announced the news again during an interview on OutKick’s “The Ricky Cobb Show” on Monday.
“I think one thing everyone can agree on, whether you’re a fan of what Bill did in New England or you’re an enemy because he beat you in New England, one thing we can all agree on is Bill really Very smart,” he said. “Bill knows what’s going on in the NFL better than most fans. Bill wouldn’t have moved to North Carolina if he thought there was a job there that would be attractive to him.
“He’s not looking for a job. He’s not collecting unemployment benefits. He’s not looking for someone to hire him. He knows that if he wants to get into the NFL, there’s a good opportunity. We also know that the NFL, in a sense, is It’s a slippery slope because you’re responsible for a lot of different people and there’s an agenda within the building.
Lombardi used a quote from one of the greatest NFL head coaches of all time to describe why Belichick won’t return to the NFL.

“Bill Walsh told me in 1984, when there were 28 teams in the National Football League, ‘You know, we’re only competing against eight teams here, kid.’ He was It was right and it is right today,” he said. “I think that quote sums up why Bill is at North Carolina. Not all teams are built to win.
“Not all teams are chasing the Super Bowl. Not all teams want to do it. They want to win their way, not the right way. I think that’s why North Carolina is so attractive to him. , because we can build a project right here.
Belichick’s girlfriend Jordan Hudson also insisted that the 72-year-old head coach will stay with Carolina Blue.
