No snow in Fayetteville, but driving conditions could be hazardous Saturday morning
Although Fayetteville didn’t see any snow Friday night, the area saw some precipitation that could make driving more difficult Saturday morning.
Andrew Kren of the National Weather Service in Raleigh said early Saturday that temperatures in Fayetteville dropped to 30 degrees Friday night and climbed to 33 degrees Saturday morning.
Kron said light rain began early Friday afternoon, with ice accumulation in the area about 1/10 of an inch and liquid rainfall of 34/100 of an inch.
Crane said the freezing rain started at 3 p.m. Friday and ended around 3 a.m. Saturday, with the heaviest precipitation occurring around 7 p.m.
There have been no reports of ice or sleet in the area. The closest snowfall to Fayetteville was in Harnett County, where 1/10 of an inch was reported, the National Weather Service said.

Cron advised drivers to stay off the roads until Saturday afternoon.
“You might see some improvement in the early afternoon,” Cron said. “Temperatures will be warming into the mid-40s this afternoon, so there could be some melting around midday.”
As of 9 a.m. Saturday, no outages were reported by the Fayetteville Public Works Commission, Duke Energy, South River EMC or Lumber River EMC.
