Nicki Minaj sued over assault by former tour manager: report

nicki minaj He is named in a lawsuit filed by a former employee that accuses the rapper of assault and battery.

Brandon GarrettMinaj, who claims to be Minaj’s manager during her 2024 tour, is suing Minaj, 42, according to court documents from Friday, January 3, obtained by TMZ. Garrett claimed in the filing that Minaj called him to her dressing room after a concert in Detroit in April 2024, where she allegedly became agitated after learning that Minaj had asked someone else to pick up prescription medication.

“[Another employee, Luke Montgomery] Explaining that his responsibilities included such tasks as venue locker room setup, private jet setup, hotel room setup, quick locker room refreshments and tour bus setup,” the document reads. “Mr. Montgomery mentioned these duties in addition to any requirements [Minaj] communicator [Garrett]including food orders, beverages, personal items, baby products, and especially prescription medications.

Garrett reportedly explained to Minaj that he was preoccupied with another assignment during the show and needed another assistant to run errands. After hearing his reasoning, Mina was allegedly “visibly upset” and “screamed angrily” at him. She was apparently saying: “Are you crazy to let him take my prescription?” and “What if my husband [Kenneth Petty] Here he’ll knock your teeth out.

Garrett further claimed that Minaj then “struck” him on the right side of the face with her “unarmed hand” and then hit him on the right wrist. Hours later, Garrett claims another staff member from Minaj’s team told him he would no longer be joining her team for her tour in Chicago.

Minaj, through her attorney, has denied Garrett’s accusations. US Weekly Contacted for comment.

“At this time, no complaint has been filed against Ms. Petty, so we are not aware of the specific allegations,” Mina’s attorney said. Judd Burstein Tell type in a statement. “However, if this lawsuit is what TMZ reports, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the issues raised by the former assistant will be quickly resolved in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

Minaj is a rapper who entered the music industry with the release of her 2010 album Pink Friday. Her career has seen several ups and downs, including an arrest in Amsterdam in 2024.

During her international tour, Minaj claims she was stopped by police after marijuana pre-rolls were apparently found in her luggage.

“They’ve been trying to stop me from going to every show,” Minaj wrote on Instagram in May 2024. “They took my bag before I even saw it. Put it on the plane. Now they Waiting for customs. This is what it’s like when people pay big bucks to try and ruin a trip after all else fails. Everything they do is illegal.

Mina claimed the drugs belonged to her security guard and she was released hours later.

“We have just released a 41-year-old American woman whom we arrested at Schiphol Airport this afternoon on suspicion of exporting soft drugs,” Royal Dutch Marechausee said in a statement, possibly referring to Mina. “After consultation with the prosecution, the suspect was fined and allowed to continue her journey.”
