New police body camera footage reveals strange behavior during arrest of Ohio teen convicted of intentionally driving her car into a wall at 100 mph in July 2022 and killing her boyfriend and his passengers.
Mackenzie Shirilla, 19, was described as “a veritable hell on wheels” by a Cuyahoga County Commons judge as she was found guilty of four counts of murder and sex with her boyfriend, Dominic Russo Additional charges related to the deaths of Dominic Russo and his friend Davion Flanagan.
Prosecutors say Shirilla, then 17, crashed her Toyota Camry into the brick wall of a business in Strongsville, Ohio, in the early morning hours of July 22, 2022. Ending her toxic relationship with Russo, Flanagan happened to be there for the ride.
In video released by the Strongsville Police Department, an officer can be seen asking a handcuffed, tearful Cirilla to step out of a police SUV.

“Hey, McKenzie, can you help me out?” the officer can be heard asking Cirilla. “I’m the one investigating this accident. You’re under arrest for aggravated murder, twice as much.”
“No one will ask you any questions, no one will bother you,” he continued.
Cirilla can be heard making a strange move and asking the officer to be careful with her bracelet.

“Can you please take this off carefully and don’t damage the bracelet?” Xilila asked with tears streaming down her face.
“You got it,” the officer replied, adjusting the handcuffs. “I’m not going to tighten these, okay? I don’t want to hurt you.”
The officer then put Cirilla into another patrol car and she appeared to try to rest and close her eyes as they made their way to the police station.

In 2023, prosecutors accused Cirilla of a “shocking lack of remorse” and she was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison, but a judge ordered the two terms to be served concurrently rather than consecutively in an act of mercy.
She will be eligible for parole in 15 years, not 30.

Russo and Flanagan were pronounced dead at the scene, while Cirilla was unconscious and had to be extricated from the damaged car.
