New England ski resort offers free lift tickets all season thanks to ‘generous’ gift

A New England ski resort says it will offer free lift tickets and trails throughout the winter after receiving a “generous” gift recently.

Storrs Hill in Lebanon, New Hampshire, is inviting winter sports enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to enjoy the slopes for free.

Cory Grant, president of the Lebanon Outing Club and manager of Storrs Mountain, said the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation provides a unique opportunity to provide free community skiing, according to reports The foundation has donated tens of millions of dollars to various causes in the Granite State in recent decades.

“This project embodies the spirit of our community and provides everyone with the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and experience the magic of winter sports,” Grant said in the release. “We hope this initiative will bring neighbors together and build a community with a A fun and convenient way to inspire people’s love of skiing.”

Grant said the Byrne Foundation grant will also launch a community sponsorship campaign to continue free skiing in future seasons.

Year-round public skiing hours at Storrs Hill are Fridays from 5pm to 9pm, Saturdays from 11am to 9pm, and Sundays from 11am to 5pm.

No registration required to enjoy free skiing.
