Netanyahu to undergo major prostate surgery after diagnosing urinary tract infection

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection last week and will undergo surgery to remove his prostate on Sunday.
Netanyahu’s office announced the surgery on Saturday, saying the infection “stemmed from a benign enlargement of the prostate.” The surgery comes as 75-year-old Netanyahu leads Israel into multiple conflicts with Iran and its proxy terrorist groups in the Middle East.
Just this week, the Israel Defense Forces launched a series of airstrikes against Yemen’s Houthi rebels, targeting Sana’a International Airport and other locations.
“The Houthi terrorist regime has repeatedly attacked the State of Israel and its citizens, including drone and surface-to-surface missile attacks on Israeli territory,” the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement on Thursday.

“The targets of the IDF attacks include the Houthi terrorist regime’s military infrastructure used for military activities at Sana’a International Airport and the Herziaz and Ras Al-Kanatib power stations. In addition, the IDF also attacked areas in Algiers Governorate Military infrastructure.

Houthi rebels who control much of northern Yemen have been firing on Israel for more than a year in support of Hamas terrorists at war with the Jewish state. The Houthis have attempted to enforce the embargo against Israel by firing missiles and drones at cargo ships crossing the Red Sea, a major route for international trade.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu has also testified in corruption cases against him in Israel. The prime minister began giving evidence in early December and is expected to remain in the witness box for several weeks.

About 140 witnesses have testified so far, down from the 300 initially expected. The witnesses include prominent figures including former prime ministers, former security chiefs and media figures.
