Strictly Come Dancing's Ugo Monye has revealed how he and tilly Ramsay communicate behind the scenes, by that of a walky-talky.

The rugby player has announced that he doesn't use a typical type of fashion to contact his co-star, instead, he opts for the airwaves.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the celebrities' social-distancing bubbles during filming, Ugo explained: "[We speak] on WhatsApp groups and I guess last year was the same… You couldn't really spend time together and you're kind of isolated in your bubbles."

But after moving closer to Gordon Ramsay's daughter Tilly, Ugo decided the pair could catch up without using their phones while still keeping things COVID-safe.

He said: "I've moved in very close to where Tilly is, and I actually bought Tilly and I walkie-talkies last week, because ringing each other on the phone, that's so old fashioned!"

Talking about the pair's growing friendship, Ugo added: "I love Tilly. She's a great girl, so much fun, she's full of energy and life and she's very good company."

This comes after dad Gordon issued a stark warning to his daughter Tilly as she begins competing on Celebrity MasterChef Australia.

The 54-year-old took to Twitter to wish Tilly good luck as the series began premiering on Saturday night on Australia’s Channel 10.

But the celebrity chef also jokingly warned his daughter not to get “too good” or else she could risk putting him out of a job.

Gordon wrote: “My little girl is all grown up….c'mon Tills ! You got this ! So proud to watch you on @masterchefau tonight at 7:30 on @Channel10AU…..just don't come back too good kid or else your old man is out of a job."

Alongside the tweet he shared the video promo of Tilly’s entrance to the cooking show, which showed the 19-year-old running around frantically as she prepared her food for the judges.

In the clip, Tilly is heard saying that her dad gave her one piece of advice, saying: “The first thing he said was like ‘if you get out first round’ he’s like ‘don’t come home.’"
