Maura Higgins wants boyfriend Chris Taylor to ‘hurry up and put a ring on it’

Maura Higgins, known for her 'fanny flutters' catchphrase, wants her boyfriend to 'put a ring on it'.

The Love Islander says she has found the man she wants to settle down with.

After keeping fans guessing about her romantic life, she has opened up about falling for fellow Love Island contestant Christopher Taylor.

Irish Maura told The Sun : “We’re very much in love and we use the L-word a lot. I look into the future and see myself with a family.

“I don’t want a baby any time soon, but when I’m ready and settled.

"I want to be married before I have a baby, so Chris better hurry up and give me that engagement ring, because I’m not getting any younger.”

The pair became good friends after appearing on the 2019 series of Love Island.

Fans would comment on social media that they'd make the perfect couple after they spent more time together.

They made their relationship public in November last year, posting a loved-up snap on Instagram from their trip to Dubai, in celebration for Maura's birthday.

In the reality show, Maura and Curtis had coupled up, eventually finishing in fourth place on the ITV2 dating show.

But they split seven months later.

Maura insists her romance with Chris blossomed out of friendship following her break-up from Curtis.

Maura said: “We were friends for ages before it ever turned into a relationship. We know each other very well, we never argue, we have such a laugh. It’s really good.

“He’s the male version of me. We’re always goofing around and giggling. We take the Mickey out of each other all the time, it’s a lot of fun, and that’s so important in a relationship.”

Last week, Curtis revealed he no longer talks to any of his co-stars from Love Island.

The professional dancer admitted he is out of touch with the rest of the contestants when appearing on Steph's Packed Lunch.

Stand in host Bill Bailey asked if remained in contact with any of them.

Curtis replied: "I haven’t, no. I’m just going to tell you straight, I actually really haven’t to be fair.

"Since everything that’s gone down like lockdowns and this and that, I’ve just focused on myself and done me."
