More than 10 million viewers watched Fox News’ inaugural coverage, crushing all other networks

More Americans watched President Trump’s historic inauguration on Fox News than on any other television network.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, Fox News averaged 10.3 million total viewers, including 2 million in the advertiser-coveted adults 25 to 54 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. FOX Business’ total audience reached 282,000, while FOX News Media’s total audience peaked at nearly 11 million.
ABC ranked second in coverage of Trump’s inauguration, with just 4.7 million total viewers. NBC ranked third with 4.4 million viewers, followed by CBS with 4.1 million viewers.
After the fiasco in the libel case, CNN only had 1.7 million viewers. MSNBC’s liberal ratings have plummeted since Trump won the election in November, averaging just 848,000 viewers.

Fox News’ coverage, led by anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, accounted for 80% of cable news’s audience share, far exceeding the shares of CNN and MSNBC.
Fox News maintained its dominance throughout the day and moved into prime time. The network averaged more than 6 million total viewers between 8pm and 11pm ET, including 1 million viewers in the key demo.
MSNBC ranked second, averaging 1.1 million total viewers and just 93,000 viewers in the key demo. CNN was third with 1 million total viewers, but beat MSNBC in the main demo audience, averaging 269,000 viewers.
