Emma Kenney Calls Shameless’ Steve Howey After Booking Happy’s Place

After booking a role Reba McEntiredaughter in happy place, Emma Kenny Received support and meaningful advice from her shameless supporting role Steve Howie.

Kenny is celebrating the opportunity to work with McEntire after bringing the character of Gracie to life in NBC’s latest sitcom, which premieres on Friday, January 10.

“I do feel a lot of responsibility for this project and playing Reba’s daughter. She’s an icon and a well-known performer,” Kenny continued. “When I started filming, the show had already aired a few episodes. Obviously, I observed what I could observe and tried to prepare myself in that sense. I definitely wanted to come and try to bring her daughter’s character to life. Come get some kudos.

Part of Kenny’s preparation meant developing her own vision for the character.

“She’s very strong and very serious. Gracie definitely has a lot of resilience, I would say determination,” she shared. “But I did want to bring some warmth to her, and I hope the audience can understand why she has such a tough exterior.”

Kenny continued: “I always do a character analysis and write it down. Sometimes I choose a zodiac sign for the character, even though it sounds a little weird. It gives me some perspective on the character. I choose [Gracie] Become a Capricorn. I think it means a lot to her.

While Kenny would love to reprise her role as Gracie, she would also love the chance to reunite with her former co-stars — including her shameless family.

“I miss working with all of them. There’s always a sense of sadness or even nostalgia when you end a show that you’ve been working on for years because it will most likely never be the exact same cast. Although it does Mr. and Mrs. Connors [on ABC] It does give me hope,” she admits. “In a sense, they did bring the whole cast back from the original show in the ’80s and ’90s. But I’ve been really lucky to work with such great people and I’ve developed strong bonds with them. .I would love to be on set with any of them again.
