Senator Mike Lee continues to call for the abolition of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
“Tired of being groped every time you travel? Abolish the TSA,” the senator said in a recent X article.
“Make airports safe and sexual assault-free again,” Lee said in another tweet.

In another article, he suggested President Donald Trump should eliminate the TSA.
Lee suggested airlines could handle passenger screening instead of TSA.
“Tapping procedures may be required if a screening technology alert occurs (as an unpredictable security measure, enhanced screening) or as an alternative to other types of screening, such as advanced imaging technology screening.” TSA website. “Tapping may include checking the head, neck, arms, torso, legs and feet. This includes head coverings and sensitive areas such as the breasts, groin and buttocks.”
The agency was established after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
According to the TSA’s website, “The Aviation and Transportation Security Act was passed on November 19, 2001, and TSA signed it on November 19, 2001.”

Lee also promoted the idea of recommending the TSA last year.
“It’s time to abolish the TSA. If federal agencies won’t do it for them, airlines can and will secure their own planes. They will do a better job than the TSA without destroying the Constitution and fumble less, thereby respecting it more passengers,” the senator announced in a post last March 11.
Days later, Lee said he had been assaulted by the TSA.

“Update: Days after calling for the abolition of TSA, I’m being ‘randomly picked’ for unnecessarily slow, thorough TSA screening and patdown. Maybe it’s a coincidence. Don’t know. In December, the senator shared a video of a person restrained by a clapper.
“It is disturbing to know what the TSA is doing countless times every day, continually conducting needlessly intrusive, unwarranted, and no-no doubt searches of law-abiding Americans,” Lee wrote when sharing the video. He added: “If you want to abolish the TSA, please share.”
