Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, delays Netflix show premiere due to wildfires

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has postponed the premiere of her new Netflix show “Love, Meghan” due to California wildfires, the Netflix streaming service said in a statement on Sunday.

“Love, Megan” is hosted and produced by Megan, who cooks, gardens and landscaping with a diverse cast of guests, “paying a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California.” The show is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday.

According to Netflix, Meghan requested that the show’s release be postponed to March 4 due to “the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.”

“I’m grateful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the release as we focus on meeting the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement.

The fires that broke out on Tuesday have killed at least 24 people, displaced thousands of residents and destroyed entire communities.

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, met with survivors and emergency medical personnel on Friday in Pasadena, where the deadly Eaton Fire has been burning in the mountains north of the city, scorching more than 13,000 acres.

The couple moved to California in 2020 and live in Montecito, about 90 minutes north of Los Angeles.

According to Netflix, all eight episodes of “Love, Megan” were filmed in Montecito, with Megan hosting, cooking for and chatting with various celebrity friends, including Mindy Kaling, Alice Waugh Tes, Roy Choi and her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
