Inside Adam Woodyatt’s on-off friendship with I’m a Celeb Queen and EastEnders pal Jac Jossa

After days of speculation, it was finally revealed at the end of Wednesday’s show that EastEnder’s actor Adam Woodyatt would enter the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! castle.

As a late arrival, the soap legend will enter the camp alongside Coronation Street star, Simon Gregson.

Given that many familiar faces from Albert Square have taken part in the show, many of his former co-stars took to social media in support of his appearance.

Having won the jungle herself back in 2019, Jacqueline Jossa cheered on the Ian Beale actor from home, calling him “my winner” on her Instagram Stories.

This isn’t the first time that Jacqueline has shown her love for Adam, calling him her “obsession”.

In her first video blog Jacqueline’s World, the actress, who played Lauren Branning on the BBC One drama, revealed that she loved Ian Beale and loved Adam for playing the infamous character.

During a Q&A, the 29 year old was asked who she would like to play on EastEnders.

“Oh, this is a good one. If you were another character in EastEnders, who would you be?” she began.

“I mean, I’d like to be Ian Beale’s son or daughter, because then you’re like a Beale.

“Or… I don’t know why I’ve got this obsession with Ian Beale, I just love him. He’s the one that’s been in the show 33 years and I would just love…” she added.

Having joined the show in February 1985, Adam is the BBC One soap’s longest-serving cast member and is clearly well respected by his co-stars.

“Adam used to call me his ‘honourable Beale’, which really was like enough for me, and I did go out with both the Beales,” Jacqueline continued.

But her relationship with her former EastEnders colleague hasn’t always been plain sailing.

When quizzed by Keith Lemon on Celebrity Juice last year, Jacqueline admitted that she hadn’t kept in touch with Adam following her departure.

“I wouldn’t say I’m in touch with him, but he’s not the guy you just…,” she said.

And asked whether he was “a nice fellow”, she kept things tight-lipped and explained: “He’s nice if he likes you, and he likes me.”

In fact, ahead of his entrance in the castle, the Ian Beale actor disclosed that he didn’t want any advice from other Walford residents who had already taken part in the show.

“I’ve spoken to my good mate Shane [Richie], he’s given me a few. Vicky Pattison, she has as well,” he told

“I’ll be honest I didn’t actually ask them. I didn’t actually want to know because I just wanted to go in and find out for myself.

“I would have actually quite liked if I hadn’t found out about who the other 10 are – I would have been going in there completely blind,” he added.

The 53 year old also confirmed that he wouldn’t be returning to EastEnders after appearing in the castle.
