We love it when a star gets themselves a hair makeover, but few transformations are as dramatic as when a celeb goes from dark hair to blonde (or vice versa).
Case in point: having already lightened her hair colour slightly this year, Grey’s Anatomy star Camilla Luddington has now revealed a new blonde makeover just days before the Season 18 premiere airs in the US.
The actress, who plays Doctor Jo Wilson on the hit US medical drama, unveiled her newly-bleached locks to her 4.2 million Instagram followers, much to the delight of Grey’s fans everywhere.
Not only has her hair colour changed, but it looks like she’s also had a fresh trim, with her long bob now skimming her shoulders in gorgeous beachy waves.
Naturally the makeover has sent fans into a frenzy as to what this means for her character.
“New season, new hair we are READY,” wrote one fan, while another commented, “Cami finally got her Blonde Jo wish”.
Meanwhile a third excited fan commented, “BLONDE JO ERA THIS IS NOT A DRILL I REPEAT JO BLONDE ERA”, as a fourth added, “I’M IN LOVE WITH THE BLONDE”.
Suggesting that her character will also appear with the makeover Camilla simply captioned the snap, “….. Season 18” alongside the hashtags #JoWilson and #NewEra.
One fan went as far to compare the new look to another famous Grey’s Anatomy character from days gone by – protagonist Meredith Grey’s sister Lexie, who also was briefly blonde during the show’s sixth season. “Lexie Grey vibe…” they wrote.
Before her time on Grey’s (and while she was still very much a brunette), fans may remember that British actress Camilla actually played Kate Middleton in the 2011 movie William & Kate, which dramatises the story of the couple’s relationship up until the royal wedding.
Caption aside, it’s worth pointing out that Camilla’s hair makeover could have taken place after filming for Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 finished, so only time will tell as to whether Jo Wilson will definitely appear on our screens as a blonde or if the writers will choose to keep her signature hair colour for now.
With no word on exactly when the 18th season will air in the UK, we’ll have to stick to stalking Instagram fan accounts to get answers in the meantime…
