Corrie’s Julia Goulding’s very unique baby name meaning as she welcomes daughter

Congratulations are in order for Coronation Street star Julia Goulding who has given birth to her second baby with her husband Ben SIlver.

Having previously announced that she wasexpecting her second child while at the British Soap Awards earlier this year, the soap actresstook to Instagram to announce the happy news that she’d given birth to a baby girl.

And as part of the post, in which she described herself as being “elated”, Julia also revealed the little one’s very unique name.

“On Saturday our little girl arrived. We’re absolutely elated and Franklin is besotted with his little sister, Emmeline Beanie Silver. She’s perfect,” she wrote.

So, following the exciting announcement, let’s take a peek at the meaning behind the tot’s adorable name…

The meaning of Emmeline

Deriving from German, French and English, Emmeline is a sweet alternative to more popular names such as Emma and Emily. As a popular name during medieval times, Emmeline means “hard working” and is a great way of setting up a little one for a life full of dedication and passion.

Despite previously being a common name in the 19th century, Emmeline fell out of favour a century later though has gradually increased in use in recent years. With suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst having the moniker herself, its connections to female equality is perfect for inspiring any little girl.

What’s more, given its length, Emmeline is ideal for any parents looking to give their baby girl a nickname, with popular choices being Emilia and Em.

The meaning of Beanie

Throughout the years, Beanie has remained a relatively uncommon name. However, following actress Beanie Feldstein’s rise to fame, use has increased dramatically.

With Beanie Feldstein’s real name being Elizabeth, Beanie is an invented nickname, meaning that not a lot is known about its actual meaning. However, the actress says that she was given the nickname after being called “Elizabeanie” by her childhood nanny.

Does Julia have any other children?

Besides newborn Emmeline Beanie, Julia appears to be a fan of mixing traditional and modern names and is the proud mum to son Franklin Wolf Silver.

While Franklin means “freeman” and dates back to medieval English, Wolf comes from English, Danish and German.

Julia isn’t the only familiar face to opt for the moniker Wolf in recent years – stars including Billi Mucklow and Zooey Deschanel have all picked the name. In fact, Kylie Jenner briefly chose it as the name of her son.
