The mum shared a picture of an oven, one side sparkling clean, having been scraped with the cuttlefish bone, and the other side filthy.

‘Go to the beach and collect cuttlefish bone or buy it at the pet shop,’ the mum instructed.

‘Boil some water, and pour it into a bowl. Snap the cuttlefish bone in half, dip it in boiling water and use it like a scraper on the glass.

‘Works every time and it’s a lot faster, it also doesn’t scratch the glass and it’s better for your health.’

Members of the Facebook group went wild for the crazy hack.

‘I’m going to get some cuttlefish bone and add it to my ENJO work trolley just to see my client’s faces when I rock up to work on their homes. Priceless,’ one woman said.

‘I want to know who the first person was who picked up some cuttlefish bone and thought “you know what? I’m going to try this to clean glass,”‘ another joked.

However she added that she would definitely try out the hack. ‘I love this tip. I live near the beach and am going to get some and give it a try. Thank you for the amazing tip!’

Other users were familiar with the tip, one said ‘my grandmother showed me this tip’.

Another advised that ‘crushed cuttlefish bone in an old stocking works amazing! It’s like a natural scourer’.
