Similar human remains were discovered days ago on the Palos Verdes Peninsula

Human remains continue to be discovered on the coast around the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
A hiker discovered a human body in a “state of decomposition” on beach rocks along a trail in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday, according to law enforcement officials.
This discovery follows the recent discovery of human skulls and bones, two legs and a femur at various sites along the peninsula. So far, police and medical examiners have not been able to determine who the remains were or the cause of death.
A small boat belonging to two missing fishermen was found overturned Tuesday near the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar in Palos Verdes Estates. After several days of effort, the Coast Guard search was called off and the men were presumed dead.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the body found Saturday “may have been there for months…in a state of decomposition.”
What happened:
Nov. 18: A human skull and a human bone were found near the 300 block of Paseo Del Mar.
Monday: Fishermen disappeared amid high winds and waves after apparently ignoring warnings from their boats.
Wednesday: A human leg washed up in the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar, near where the abandoned boat was found.
Thursday: Another person’s leg and femur washed ashore near the same location.
Sunday: A body was found.
Palos Verdes Estates police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff said their investigation is ongoing.
