Kentucky mother, 9 of her 7-year-old daughters died

At least nine people died in Kentucky after a severe flood attack on Sunday, officials said Sunday.
Hart County Coroner Tony Roberts said mother and child Saturday after vehicles in Bonnieville Community, Kentucky were completely submerged in flooding. It was swept away at night.
Roberts said the child’s body was recovered late Saturday, while the Hart County search said the mother’s body was recovered Sunday afternoon. The mother and son were not released immediately.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said on Sunday that most deaths in Kentucky were caused by cars stuck in high water.
Dangerous floods were encountered in the southeast, while snowstorms were conducted in the northeast brackets

“So, guys, stay away from the road now and keep your life alive,” he said. “This is the search and rescue phase and I’m proud of all the Kentuckians who responded to make their lives online.”

Beshear said 1,000 rescues have been conducted across the state since the storm began on Saturday. The storm eliminates electricity from about 39,000 homes, but Beshear warns that strong winds in some areas may increase disruptions.

Bob Oravec, a senior forecaster for the National Weather Service, said rainfall was seen in parts of Kentucky and Tennessee.
