Jamie Foxx was hit in the face with a glass while celebrating his birthday at the Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Friday night and required medical attention.
“Someone at another table threw a glass and hit him in the mouth,” a spokesman for the actor said in a statement to The Times. “He had to get stitches and is recovering. . The police have received the report and the matter has been handed over to law enforcement agencies.
The Beverly Hills Police Department said it responded to a possible assault with a deadly weapon at a celebrity hotspot at 10:06 p.m. and determined the incident was unfounded.
“Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between two parties,” a press release from the department said. “BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made.
It’s unclear what triggered the incident. A call to Mr. Zhou was not immediately returned.
On Saturday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police Department said officers had contacted Foxx’s camp to get more details from the actor.
