15 Flight Attendant-loved Amazon Presidents Day Sale Deals

There’s no way around it: packing can be stressful. But there are ways you can make it as easy as getting ready in the morning. After traveling professionally for nearly 11 years as a flight attendant, I’ve had my fair share of mishaps and discovered how to avoid embarrassing luggage moments completely — and it’s all thanks to my arsenal of tried-and-true travel gear and accessories (many of which are marked down up to 58 percent during the Amazon Presidents Day sale). 

There are a few things professional travelers are just better at: security screening, finding the fastest cup of airport coffee, and packing, of course. Have you thought to place your heavy items closest to the wheels? You should; it helps keep your luggage from tipping over. Keep reading for my foolproof packing tips and product recommendations to make your time away even more relaxing.

I’m using the long weekend to stock up on a few more while they’re $17.50 apiece. 

Mayfiy Makeup Bag With LED Mirror 

Some of us are civilized and do our makeup at a vanity — and then there’s me: drinking coffee, makeup case in my lap, soaking up the view at my latest destination. Regardless of where you spend your glam time, you’ll love having your favorite products in predictable and protected spots in this handy case. If you’re traveling with friends and the bathroom is crowded, the LED mirror comes in handy. I love having my brushes organized and accessible, so the brush panel checks off another box for me. 

Packing tip: put this cube-shaped case closest to the wheels. Your makeup is a little heavier than the rest of your items so it will help keep the wheels down and handles up as you’re cruising through the airport.

Not all of our favorite beauty products are available in TSA-approved sizes — and when you spend most of your time on a plane, skipping moisturizer isn’t an option. I love this toiletry bottle kit because it ensures the items I’ve carefully curated always come with me and that I’ll never have to use hotel-provided products again. I refill the balm containers with my favorite skin salves and the Laneige lip mask to ward off painful dryness.  

Sukh Makeup Remover Cloth

My girlfriend April was visiting recently and she insisted I try her microfiber facial cleaning cloth.  I was shocked at how well it took off my mascara and long-wear lipstick. So of course, I’ve added these reusable facial cleansing cloths to my packing list. Sometimes, single-use towelettes are a good choice, but these are my go-to for work trips because they take up little to no room in my bag.  

Iron Flask Hydration Flask Insulated Water Bottle

I love my 32-ounce stainless steel drinking vessels when I’m home or running around town. But they’re just too big to take on trips with me. This 18-ounce hydration flask, on the other hand, is perfect for travel. I love that Iron Flask includes three different lids so I can pick and choose according to planned activities. I don’t know of an airport that doesn’t have bottle refilling stations and, even if you aren’t thirsty, make sure you get a cup of water when the flight attendants come by to refill your flask. Future (and very thirsty) you will thank you.

Project Cloud Memory Foam Sneakers

I’m a big fan of packing versatile clothing items, and these sneakers are a perfect example. The memory foam construction delivers extra comfort and support when I’m out exploring, and I love the trendy metallic gold option (more colors available if you’re not into fashion risks). Shoes are another item you should pack close to the wheels of your suitcase; with your heavier items on the bottom, your suitcase will want to stay upright — just don’t forget to put them in your shoe bag to keep everything cleaner.

Dokooto T-shirt Maxi Dress

A classic maxi dress is always in my suitcase. Maybe it’s because I’m always dreaming of a sailing vacation or that nautical stripes are always in fashion — either way, dresses like this are in heavy rotation in my suitcase. It looks great with sneakers or my favorite flip-flops, and longer dresses are always a good choice for the airplane.

Packing tip: rather than folding, roll this dress and other items like T-shirts for fewer wrinkles.  

Gihuo Cropped Puffer Jacket

The days may be getting longer, but cold temperatures are still popping up at our favorite destinations. I’ve loved these quilted puffer jackets that have been popular lately, and this cropped version is at the top of my list while it’s on double sale. I’m a fan of the neutral cream color and the fact that I can throw it in the washer when I get home from a trip. 

Here’s a TSA security line secret: while you’re waiting for your turn at the belts and bins, put any bulky jewelry, headphones, sunglasses, and other loose items in the zippered pockets of your jacket. You’ll be the first off the conveyor belt and you can get reorganized somewhere less chaotic.

While I don’t typically take a blanket to work with me, I do make sure to have one handy when I’m traveling for pleasure. Whether it be unpredictable weather or a plane that’s cooler than expected, this blanket scarf is not only dual-purpose but darling, too. A blanket is always a good idea because your in-flight crew won’t always pick a cabin temperature that’s good for everyone.  And if you spill your in-flight coffee, you can drape this cutie over the stain and look as chic as you did when you walked on the plane.
