Immigrants allegedly smuggling fentanyl lead police in dangerous cornfield chase

New exclusive videos obtained by Fox News reveal a fierce moment of high-speed vehicle pursuits as law enforcement chased two suspected cornfields that were suspected of carrying fentan through Grundy County, Illinois Illegal immigration in Nigeria.

A Grundy County official told Fox News that the Illinois shelter policy allows two Honduran illegal immigrants to travel through the county without restrictions.

Grundy is the main countryside in northwest Chicago.

Video footage taken on October 24 shows two immigrants, 18-year-old Roybin Barahona and 23-year-old Chrisser Ananaire Elaso Velask Cristhian Anahel Erazo Velasquez, spinning through the cornfield in the vehicle, and authorities hit a car on their car to stop them. After their car was knocked down, the two fled the car and the officer continued to pursue it.

Later videos showed law enforcement found a fatal payload of seven pounds of fentanyl in the burned car of the immigrant. Both were charged with controlled substance trafficking with the aim of possessing fentanyl and resisting arrest, according to local media WSPY News.

As the Illinois Security-T Act repealed Illinois cash bail system in 2023, Barrahona was released without bail and allegedly fled to California.

Meanwhile, Velasquez is still in custody and the Department of Homeland Security has filed a detention against him. Despite being detained, Illinois asylum laws continue to prevent local law enforcement from sharing information with federal immigration officials about Velasquez.

The Grundy County Board Chairman expressed frustration at Illinois asylum law in his speech with Fox News. He said: “Because we are a shelter, illegal bad actors are allowed to travel through our county with 7 pounds of fentanyl.

“I do not agree to putting handcuffs on law enforcement and preventing them from working effectively with federal authorities,” he said. “By limiting the ability to enforce the law, we are undermining public safety.”

Grundy County is the first of dozens of counties in Illinois that violated the state by creating a non-propaganda ordinance. This comes after the influx of more than 51,000 immigrants to Chicago since the summer of 2022.

During the immigration crisis, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson doubled the city’s shelter policy and said in a recent ABC 7 Chicago interview: “We will always be a passion and Shelter space.”

Johnson vowed to resist the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration and called for the permission of ICE to enforce and evacuate church and school property, “unreasonable and reprehensible”.
