Cayden Primeau There is no doubt that the calendar years are high and can match with a smile.
On January 3, Primeau wore his Laval Rocket jersey for the first time since April 2023. He has started 11 starts since returning and won the first 10 games. It’s just a loss. His outstanding performance even earned him the title of AHL goalkeeper in January.
But the road to this moment is not without any challenge to the 25-year-old goalkeeper.
“What he has experienced this year is not easy.” Pascal Vincentthe Rockets’ head coach.
Vincent refers to Primeau playing 11 games this season after spending his entire season with the NHL Montreal Canadaens.
“He has personal expectations of himself besides the opinions of others or the expectations of the public,” Vincent added. “This did not disappear as he hoped.”
Just before Christmas, Primeau learned that he was about to set the bell down. On January 1, after he arrived, American online institutions did not waste time at work.
“I think when someone is facing adversity, they do see their role,” Vincent reflects. “Kaden had a lot of experience at the time. He didn’t blame or criticize anyone. He just said, “I’m playing games here, doing my best.” ”
Vincent recalled his first impression of the goalkeeper.
“He had a smile on his face and was ready to go to work,” Vincent said. The first meeting gave him a clear understanding of the type of Primeau.
“His attitude is exemplary. It even infected his teammates.”
The team had just stood out when Primeau joined the Rockets, lowering their usual standards in December and ending the game with a 5-4-0-1 mark. Still, the team is looking for top spots in the North section. Primeau’s arrival injects new energy into the team and they quickly find the rhythm again.
However, Primeau is still modest and refuses to be turnaround.
“They have a great group here and they’ve been building a wonderful culture,” Primeau said. “They had a strong first half in the first half and we were just trying to build on that. It’s fun . These guys are great on the ice or on the ice. It’s an explosion.”
Since Primeau’s arrival, the team has climbed to No. 1 and also allowed the league’s fewest goals in the fewest games – two statistics reflect the popularity and success statistics of Laval this season.
“Marco Marcianoour goalkeeper coaches always keep a positive attitude. “It’s hard to feel happy and optimistic around him. The environment here is very special. You don’t have many days to play in Laval, and the day there is a terrible one. ”
Primeau averaged 2.23 goals in 11 games against the Rockets, with a savings of .910. However, despite these impressive numbers, Primeau is driving improvements.
“The interesting thing is that I love the trend of gaming, but I seem to find other things I want to do,” he said. “There will always be better room.”
Although Primeau is not satisfied with his performance, his coach believes he will have another chance in the NHL soon.
“I’m a firm believer he’s going to shoot again there,” Vincent said. “It’s just a matter of time.”
With such a performance, it’s hard to imagine any other outcome.
