Illegal immigrant accused of molesting 5-year-old Florida girl, family accuses him of immigration status

An illegal immigrant from Guatemala has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a five-year-old girl in two separate incidents, a charge the suspect denies.

Nicolas Jose Francisco, 25, faces two counts of sexual assault of a child under 12 years old.

Francisco, who had been working for the young victim’s family for more than a year, allegedly molested the girl twice in the garage and bathroom of the victim’s home, WFLX reported.

The girl first told the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families about the alleged abuse on Dec. 13.

In both incidents, the child said Francisco let her into the garage or bathroom, where he touched her inappropriately, investigators said.

The child told investigators that during the first incident, Francisco called her into the garage and “touched her flowers,” which she said was a private area, WPEC reported.

In the second incident, the girl said Francisco took her to the bathroom, where he allegedly exposed himself to her and touched her again.

In an interview with deputies on Thursday, Francisco said the accusations were false and that the family only brought them because he “was an undocumented immigrant.”

He said he touched the girl “by mistake both times” while he was in the garage and in the bathroom. He said he tried to help the girl go to the bathroom, but investigators said there was no restroom in the garage.

Francisco later “apologized and acknowledged that his behavior and actions were wrong,” deputies said.
