(Reuters) – Uber Technologies has filed a lawsuit against Doordash, accusing online delivery companies of anti-competitive practices that have brought higher costs to restaurants and customers.
In a filing in San Francisco’s California Superior Court on Friday, Uber accused Doordash of forced restaurants to use Doordash as its exclusive or only preferred provider for delivery.
“Doordash’s unqualified strategy has cost Uber millions of dollars in revenue and illegally limits Uber’s capabilities,” Uber reported for the first time in the Wall Street Journal late Friday.
A Doordash spokesman said in an emailed statement to Reuters: “There is no advantage in Uber’s case. Their claims are unfounded and based on their inability to provide quality alternatives to merchants, consumers or couriers.” ”
Uber did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
