Federal workers will receive another email asking them to detail the achievements

Federal workers are expected to receive another email Saturday asking them to describe their achievements last week, a person familiar with the matter said.

The email said the email would come directly from the agency’s HR department, not from the Personnel Management Office. The person said the decision was made after the OPM leaders met with the agent representative yesterday and suggested they send an email. They spoke on anonymity because they had no right to speak publicly.

The Washington Post first reported on the decision to send another round of emails.

Last Saturday, federal workers received an email from the Office of Personnel Management, the government’s human resources department directing them to detail their achievements at 11:59 PM EST on Monday.

“Please reply to this email approximately. Your achievements last week and 5 bullets from the CC Manager. Please do not send any classified information, links or attachments.”

Billionaire Elon Musk said on social media that workers will receive messages soon and fail to respond would be “deemed to be resigned.” The email exploded. Although Mr. Musk said he was acting for President Trump’s encouragement, the directive aired in the federal government.

Officials at some agencies violated Mr Musk’s orders last weekend and told workers to stop or not respond to emails. By Monday afternoon, the Office of Personnel Management notified the agency that they did not have to ask employees to respond to emails.
