“I don’t know how you did it”
Vice President JD Vance had to sit down at Donald Trump’s address at the joint Congress meeting Tuesday night, breaking the record of the longest presidential speech to Congress.
A popular microphone talks between Mike Johnson in House Mike Johnson before the president’s long speech. “By the way, I think the speech would be great. But I don’t know you’re doing that in 90 minutes,” Vance told Johnson. The video shows Johnson then lowers the active microphone.
According to the U.S. Presidential Period Project, Trump’s speech lasted for an hour and 40 minutes, beating records of speeches from former President Bill Clinton’s former National Conditions Company, where Clinton spoke for an hour and 28 minutes.
Trump’s joint speech was longer. Lower TV viewership
In his speech to Congress, Trump spoke about tariffs, inflation, immigration, opposition efforts, and the Governor’s cuts to the federal government. According to USA Today, an estimated 36.6 million viewers have a prime time address lower than any of the previous Trump administration’s first four speeches in Congress.
