Gwyneth Paltrow Activists and fellow actresses kicked off the celebrations on Wednesday, December 25, by lighting a menorah Noah Tishby.
“I think my favorite [memory] When I would go back to my grandparents’ house, I would get Hanukkah gels, referring to the traditional chocolate coins, Paltrow recalled in a social media video. “I have very vivid memories of those gold coins, the round coins, and my brother and I tearing them apart.”
Paltrow grew up celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah like her mother, Bryce Danneris a Christian, and her father, deceased Bruce Paltrowwas raised Jewish.
Now that Paltrow is older, she’s making sure to bring the Hanukkah tradition into her and her husband’s home Brad Falchuk and their blended family. (They each have two children from past marriages.)
“We always light the menorah,” Paltrow said. “We always get together and after lighting the candles, it’s actually very sweet and we all embrace and bring light.”
