NASA Blinds Office As Trump Manages Quantitative Size of Federal Agency

Acting Chief Executive Janet Petro told employees in a memo on Monday that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will have several more offices within its agencies as Donald Trump’s efforts to reduce the size of the government.
Petro said federal agencies informed the government this week that the deadline for its layoff plans was “in advance.”
“While this will be a tough adjustment, we see it as an opportunity to reshape our workforce, ensure we are doing what we statutoryly require, while also providing an effective and effective agency for U.S. citizens,” Petro wrote.

NASA’s Office of Technology, Policy and Strategy; the Office of Chief Scientists; and the “Implementation of the Presidential Government Efficiency Workforce Optimization Program” in line with Trump’s executive order, which will close the diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility branches of the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity.
