Rangers sign Adrian Hauser to minors contract

Rangers sign right-hander Adrian Hauser According to Aram Leighton of Just Baseball Media (via X ), this is a minor league deal. The contract included an invitation to the Rangers’ major league spring training camp.

Just under a year ago, the Mets acquired Hauser and Tyrone Taylor from the Brewers, and New York president of baseball operations David Stearns is looking to use two familiar faces in his old position in Milwaukee to flesh out the Mets lineup. Taylor had respectable results as part of New York’s outfield mix, but Hauser had a much tougher time in New York, posting a 5.84 ERA in 69 1/3 innings.

Injuries to other pitchers opened the door for Hauser to start the season in the Mets’ rotation, and he temporarily returned to the starting pitching position when the Mets briefly adopted a six-man rotation. The disparity between the two sides is stark – Hauser had an 8.55 ERA in 33 2/3 innings as a starter and a 3.28 ERA in 35 2/3 innings as a reliever, and these bulls Shed missions are usually played in multiple rounds.

While Hauser seemed to have found his groove as a long reliever, the Mets elected to designate him for assignment before releasing him in late July. The Cubs and Orioles each signed Hauser to minor league contracts during the season, but those deals failed to translate into more major league playing time for the right-hander.
