Transportation stems from the ongoing H-1 Salt Lake Rehabilitation Paving Project, which requires three lanes to close on the eastbound side of Kahuapaani Street and off-airport ramps.
But DOT director Ed Sniffen said the contractor mistakenly set three lanes in the east 24/7 and then before the Moanalua Freeway merger on Friday night.
One key in Waikiki pedestrians and car accidents
“The closing of the lane should have started from the east side of H-2011 Offramp,” explains director Snyfin. “Although what happened was that the contractor had established a closure forward H-2011 Offramp This means we’re pushing everyone to the closed driveway there, which is not a plan. ”
He said the site received many public concerns and complaints throughout the day, working to send people out to clear the contractor’s mistakes.
“Go there to make sure we work with the contractor to reset things safely and reset at 1 p.m.,” Sniffen said. “All lanes are open again to reach H-2011, but we are still closed on the airport side. The weekend The two to three lanes closure is 24/7 to maximize the use of off-peak lanes, so we won’t affect everyone during the weekdays.”
