Giant Great Lawrence Taylor reveals what keeps him from quitting football before his career begins

Lawrence Taylor is one of the most important defensive players in NFL history and nearly quit football in high school.

But his father wouldn’t let him.

Taylor, 66, talked about almost quitting football when Outkick’s “Sustain Tyrus” appearance.

Taylor recalls: “I thought it was too much.

“And then, once I started getting a little bit, he told me, ‘Hey, you’re better than the next guy to be equal.” So listen, who I’m going to follow in front of me, that’s the person I’m going to face. ”

The Professional Football Hall of Fame member has done a great job in his 13-year career with the people in front of him. Taylor spent his entire career with the New York Giants, winning two Super Bowls.

Taylor won the NFL MVP in 1986, becoming one of only two defensive players in NFL history.

During that 1986 season, Taylor had 20½ sacks. For Taylor, his goal is simple – to find football.

“I think a lot of coaches, or my coaches, can play the game anyway, like the way they see the game. (People say) You have to get here, you have to go there. Here, I want to go here.

The ten-time professional bowler has 142 sacks in 184 professional games.
