Without explicit allegations of any political party, the head of the German navy warned that Russia is under increasing threats.
German naval chief said on Tuesday several warships in Berlin were destroyed.
German Navy Inspector Vice-Chancellor Jan Christian Kaack said in a press conference on Tuesday that the damage involved “multiple units.”
Kark also said that through land and sea, German naval bases had tried to break in, and he talked about “trying to approach” the uniformed personnel when they returned home.
The Deputy Admiral did not provide further details about the attempt to damage, nor did he specify who was behind them. But Kak issued a general warning to Moscow while talking to reporters.
“In early 2025, Russia’s threat was growing, not two years ago,” he said.
Kaack’s comments come after a report published Monday by local media Sultesch Zeitung, which said German police are investigating an incident at the Hamburg shipyard in which dozens of kilograms of metal shavings were dumped on Corvette-class ships In the engine system of the vessel.
According to a joint report by broadcasters WDR and NDR, the Corvette is a brand new ship called “Emden” waiting to be shipped to the German military. It is reportedly planned to deploy to the Baltic Sea.
If no shaving was found during the inspection, they would cause significant damage to the vessel, Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Kaack was asked to speak to Süddeutsche Zeitung’s report, but he did not directly confirm the “Emden” incident when he spoke about the destructiveness.
“Emden” is one of five new K130 Corvettes that Germany ordered in 2025 to meet its NATO requirements.
The naval vessel Lürssen, the company responsible for building ships in Hamburg, told Agence France-Presse that Emden recently completed a “successful maritime trial.”
It did not respond to requests for comment sent by business insiders during regular working hours.
Germany has been highly alert to attempts to damage after multiple incidents over the past two years, including a munitions factory in Berlin driving out fires and packages from fires.
Recently, in late January, a German ammunition factory in Spain was attacked by an explosion bomb, injuring six workers.
German authorities have repeatedly suggested that Russia is the main suspect, but are still investigating many cases.
Ukraine’s allies accused Russia of launching a “hybrid war” against the West, reporting an attempt to assassinate the CEO of defense contractors and an increasing assessment of the Russian-Russian tankers that damaged the submarine infrastructure cables in the Barrow’s sea.
The Russian government and the German Navy did not respond to a request for comment from BI, which was sent during normal working hours.
