Fort Bragg is back: Army renamed NC base to commemorate World War II heroes

With the Cannon Fire and the rendition of “Kaison Song” in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, formally redefines its original name, now respects the heroes of the World War II, rather than officers of the Mexican-American War, and later becomes the Allied General.
Under the guidance of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Army held a ceremony Friday at a 260,000-person base outside Fayetteville to reverse the Democrats’ change into “Free Fort” and respect a master who saved the lives of fellow American members in Bastogne.
The descendants of PFC Roland L. Bragg died in 1999 – Lieutenant General Gregory Anderson commented on the late Veterans Service and received a renaming. It was previously named after CSA Braxton Bragg.
“Today, we gather on the largest installation in the per capita military, covering an area of 164,000 acres, supporting more than 48,000 soldiers, 80,000 family members, Department of Defense civilians in 2000, nearly 100,000 retirees and their families,” said Anderson’s commander.

“Fort Bragg is not any basis. It is the foremost force projection platform for our country. It is a culture of resilience and combat, and it is a way of life. We call Fort Bragg the center of the universe, the ability of our army to deploy, we are globally, anywhere in the world, anywhere in the world, anywhere in the world, anywhere in the world, anywhere in the world, help others, compete and fight against others, and compete and fight against others, and in war, and in war, and in war, and in war, and in war, and in war.
Roland Bragg’s granddaughter also made remarks about how her grandfather never promoted his military service and was the quiet, loving patriarch of his family.
She tells a story about any shape he enjoys pancakes for his grandchildren, no matter how complicated the children want.
Bragg was captured by the Germans in 1943 and, with Anderson’s retelling, somehow convinced the Nazi officers to let him and his fellow prisoners go, because both men were Freemasons. In the condition that the Nazi sergeant was eliminated – in order to provide signs of struggle – Prague was pleased to be obliged, and he and his soldiers were released.
Prague then directed a Nazi ambulance and drove it to the U.S. line and shot violently through the U.S. line, and later believed that all other injured paratroopers were killed in the exchange of fire.
Until he received a letter from a California veteran decades later, he discovered that some people survived that day.
Fort Bragg has been “Free Fort” for about four years – one of several bases, mainly in the south, where Democrats renamed the remains of the Alliance.
In the successful veto of then-President Donald Trump, D-Wash. The 2021 National Defense Authorization Act sponsored by Rep. Adam Smith includes a provision that creates a committee that ultimately strips Braxton Bragg of his name from his North Carolina base.
Rep. Richard Hudson, who represented the base and U.S. Corridor 421, had previously expressed support for Braxton Bragg’s name – despite highlighting the decision and outcome of the Cumberland County community.

“I recognize that Fort Bragg means going beyond Braxton Prague,” he wrote in the 2021 Fayetteville Observer column. “It’s a very difficult issue for many in our community and I’m grateful for the passion on both sides.”
On Friday, Hudson told Fox News numbers exclusively that the change in respect of Roland Bragg “respect these brave soldiers” has “respected these brave soldiers” who have passed through the gates and their families.
“When leaders around the world heard the name of Fort Bragg, they knew it represented men and women in our air and special forces. These are some of the most dynamic, capable and elite troops in our army. When President Trump needed a quick military response, he called Fort Bragg.”
Fort Moore, Georgia, near the Alabama border on the Chattahoochee River, is the next base that will be re-designated to Fort Bragg in a similarly creative way.
Long known as Fort Benning – General Henry Benning of Applin, Georgia – The Pentagon was prepared to rename it to Fort Benning, despite the outstanding service of the same last name after World War I.

Other changes in 2021 include Virginia’s AP Hill, named after General Stonewall Jackson, who was honored by nearby Culpeper and killed by Pennsylvania officers in the third battle in Petersburg as the Confederates began to collapse.
Fort Lee in Petersburg, Virginia is now Greg-Adamsburg. Fort Hood, Texas is now Fort Cavazos. Fort Rucker, Alabama is now Fort Novesel. Fort Pickett in Notove, Virginia is now Fort Barfolk. Whether the Pentagon will seek to rename the remaining redesignated installations remains to be seen.
As for Hergers’ statements on changes in the base name, he hinted to the Associated Press that more changes will be made as demanded by Trump and the administration.
“I never called it Liberty Fort because it’s not Liberty Fort. It’s Bragg Fort,” he said.
