Former US President Jimmy Carter died on Sunday at the age of 100, prompting sincere condolences from world leaders.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his condolences after Carter’s death, writing: “My condolences to the people and government of the United States, and especially to the family and loved ones of President James Carter. Our people will Remember this thanks to his efforts to improve relations, his visit to Cuba and his statement supporting the freedom of the Five Nations.
During one term in the White House, Carter negotiated the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt, helped move the world further away from nuclear proliferation through the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) II, and signed the Panama Canal Treaty, ending a century of Nuclear war.

Carter died at his home in Georgia in the presence of his family.
