Florida man robs elderly woman of $200 lottery winnings: surveillance video

Florida authorities are searching for a man who was shown on video robbing an elderly woman during an attack outside an Orlando convenience store on Wednesday.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the violent robbery occurred Wednesday morning outside a store on Curry Ford Road near the intersection of S. Goldenrod Road.
In surveillance video shared by the Sheriff’s Office, the 83-year-old, who has not been named, can be seen walking out of the store with the lottery winnings in his hand and trying to get into his car.

At the same time, the suspect, believed to be Diego Starling Tavares Fleury, began walking toward the woman from the sidewalk area behind him. He approached her and attempted to take the winnings away from her, and a verbal altercation ensued.
Another man came out of the store and appeared to tell Fleury to leave.
Fleury then chased the woman and began trying to take the money while another man tried to pull him away from the victim. Fleury dragged the woman in the parking lot as she took her winnings and eventually stole her money.

Another man appeared to try to get the woman’s money back, but Fleury pushed him and ran away. He was still missing as of Wednesday evening.
A store employee told FOX 35 that Fleury often hangs out near the front of the building and has caused problems in the past.

The suspect is believed to be Diego Stalin Tavarez Fleury, who is wanted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for robbery, sudden robbery and battery on a person 65 years or older. (Orange County Sheriff’s Office)

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Fleury on charges of robbery, sudden taking and battery on a person 65 years of age or older.
