This past weekend, the AHL officially reached the midway point of its 2024-25 regular season schedule.
Three months into the game has begun to provide some (though hardly all) answers NHL front offices seek to understand their prospects and their respective AHL affiliates.
What works? What’s not? With the pressure on as the team battles to lock down a berth in the Calder Cup playoffs, which prospects will take a big step forward in the second half? Is there a veteran out there who might be able to come in and help?
How will the March 7, NHL trade deadline affect AHL rosters? Will top prospect leave in deal that strengthens NHL parent club? If an NHL front office chooses to trade and build for the future, will a group of prospects arrive?
Some teams have begun to change their appearance.
