Raiders’ Antonio Pierce slams critics who want team to lose to Jaguars and improve draft position

The Las Vegas Raiders’ draft position could become complicated after their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and fans of the team are taking notice.
If the Raiders lose, their record will drop to 2-13 and they will compete with the New York Giants for the No. 1 draft pick. But the Raiders won and the Giants lost. Las Vegas dropped to sixth place with the result.

As fans took to social media to get upset with the Raiders, head coach Antonio Pierce addressed his critics while speaking to the media.
“We’re not doing this to lose,” he said on “Pro Football Talk.” “We’re not doing this for anybody’s fantasy football team. We’re not doing this for anybody’s draft predictions. None of that matters to us. The only thing that matters to us is winning, and that’s what we want of doing.

Las Vegas is in the midst of one of its worst seasons in franchise history. Last season, Pierce narrowly missed the playoffs last season when Josh McDaniels took over as head coach midseason, falling short of their hopes with three wins.
The Raiders have made the playoffs only twice since losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl during the 2002 season. They didn’t make it out of the wild-card round either.
