Ex-police officer accused of having sex with 14-year-old boy in parked car

A misconduct hearing heard an incident involving a student police officer having sex with a 14-year-old boy.

Constable Ahmad Shoaib, 38, is accused of committing the act with the boy, who was under the age of consent, in a parked car in a public place while off duty on April 29, 2023.

At the hearing, he was found to have breached the standards of dishonest conduct set out in the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

West Mercia Police said: “We were informed of the incident after he was arrested by West Midlands Police and was suspended from West Mercia Police on 2 May 2023.”

Shoaib was released with no further action after investigators found there was insufficient evidence to charge him with a criminal offense.

Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Jones said: “Officer Shaw is in the early stages of his police training. I am pleased this allegation came to light so quickly so that we can take action before he has the opportunity to work with the public.

“Cases like this undermine the public’s trust in us and, in turn, the hard work and dedication our officers demonstrate day in and day out.

“Officers like Shoaib have no place in our force and we will continue to work to remove them.”

The 38-year-old is now banned from working in the UK police force in the future as he will be added to the Police College’s barred list.
