Footwear brand STOCK NO. is making a name for itself in its native Japan by way of attractively understated shoes and boots indebted to the hippie era, with soft suedes and crepe soles ensuring effortless comfort. Having already collaborated with several partners, the brand is back with another joint effort, serving a special pair of suede shoes for Japanese art collective ON AIR.
The MB18 silhouette is at the core of this partnership, elevated by a few tweaks and altered details. Chief among them is an oversized crepe mudguard that wraps the shoe from the sole to almost the top of its moc toe. A slimmed down suede upper offers a classy finish, while tonal laces keep the mid-top silhouette relatively understated. Their granola-y appearance is indicative of ON AIR’s psychedelic influences and relaxed, comfort-centric ethos, tying in with its love of earthy dyes thanks to the muted palette.
STOCK NO.’s exclusive MB18 shoe Digawel’s MIN-NANO outpost and ON AIR’s website on April 16.
