Nvidia Says Its New Mobile Graphics Cards Will Outperform the PlayStation 5's

Nvidia has finally unveiled its RTX 3060 graphics card at CES 2021 along with the debut of an RTX 30 series for laptops.

Priced at $330 USD, the newly-announced RTX 3060 desktop GPU will be the company’s entry-level graphics card for its current generation, with just slightly less performance than the RTX 3060 Ti, which is currently priced at $400 USD. While the company has only released partial specifications for the new chip, we know that it carries 3,584 CUDA cores and a boost clock of 1.78GHz.

Turning to gaming laptops, Nvidia also debuted its brand new RTX 30 series cards for mobile computers, which it claims can outperform a PlayStation 5 by 30 percent. Among the new series will be the RTX 3060, the RTX 3070 and the RTX 3080, just like it its desktop counterparts. The RTX 3060 will be focused on 1080p gaming, while the RTX 3070 will give a performance boost up to 1440p or 2K displays. The RTX 3080 will be the highest-performing model, aimed at both Esports players and video editors. Pricing will go for $1,000 USD, $1,300 USD and $2,000 USD respectively.
