A fast food customer has called out its staff on social media after he spotted the offensive message used to identify him on the ticket for his order.
Having gone to chicken chain Chic-Fil-A with his girlfriend, the man saw that he had been given the piece of paper containing his order which labelled him simply as 'ugly sweater'.
Twitter user @Zin_Zaddy posted a picture of the note with his order of 30 chicken nuggets and a large fries, alongside a snap of himself wearing the offending colourful patterned knitwear as he swears at the camera.
He captioned the images: "It was NOT MY PLEASURE TO EAT CHIC FIL A TODAY."
After the tweet went viral, racking up almost 150,000 likes, he added: "I'm not mad but I am sad and I will take reparations in free chicken sandwiches."
The post was bombarded with questions, but many ignored the rude remark and focused on the thinking behind the order.
It forced the poster from Arizona to address the questions, explaining that he hadn't bought a drink as he already had one and he 'shared the nugs' with his girlfriend rather than scoffing all 30 by himself.
He told Twitter that he didn't ask the staff to write that on the note, which he clarified was a takeout ticket used to identify the customers which 'was given to me by accident'.
The jumper divided opinion with one stating 'they weren't wrong though', while another argued 'but this sweater is actually so cute and I need it."
Another posted a reply of herself wearing the exact same knitwear, copying his sweary pose.
Others added their own similar experiences, with one showing his own receipt which labelled him as 'cool jacket', with the message: "Come to Popeyes bro, they know how to treat kings like us."
A second admitted that she used similar identifiers when she worked at a restaurant, saying: "Okay I used to do this kind of stuff when I worked at IHOP when I'd forget to take their name and I had no idea it printed on receipts until a big scary guy looked at me weird for labeling him 'smoopsie'.
Chic-Fil-A have been contacted for comment.
