Every Stunning Royal Fashion Moment at the 2023 Commonwealth Day Service
On March 13, members of the British Royal Family joined alongside guests and performers at this year’s Commonwealth Day Service. The symbolic day, of course, is the first since Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in September of 2022. Given that all its royal attendees have changed titles and roles since then, the big day marks a major milestone.
In attendance were King Charles III and his wife Queen Consort Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the newest Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
“Commonwealth Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and achievements of the organization and its citizens,” reads an official statement from the royal family. In this year’s event, the official theme was “Forging a Sustainable and Peaceful Common Future.” Per the Palace, the theme aims to highlight “the active commitment of the family of nations to support the promotion of peace, prosperity, and sustainability, especially through climate action, to secure a better future for young people and improve the lives of all Commonwealth citizens.”
Princess of Wales
At the service, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, looked stunning wearing a floral navy skirt and blazer from Erdem. She then paired the two-piece set with matching navy accessories including a hat, heels, and a clutch. (Find a similar style HERE and HERE!)
Perfectly matching his wife, Prince William wore a sharp navy suit to the occasion. He then paired the suit with a white button-down and a blue tie.
King Charles III
King Charles III kept it classic at the ceremony in this muted blue pinstripe suit. He then accessorized with an owl-print navy tie and a matching checkered pocket square.
Queen Consort Camilla
For the occasion, Queen Consort Camilla wore a bright blue wool coat/dress from Fiona Clare and a Philip Treacy beret, per People. To accessorize, and also honor her late mother-in-law, she also wore a sapphire and diamond brooch that belonged to the Queen.
Princess Anne steered clear from the blue in this dark green patterned dress with an overlapping lapel. The Princess Royal then accessories with a lighter green hat, black gloves and black leather boots.
Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh looked regal at the service. Duchess Sophie wore a monochromatic cream-colored outfit while Prince Edward opted for a black pinstripe suit.
Former Spice Girl Geri Horner also opted for an off-white look in this cream-colored coat with gold buttons and white pants.
Baroness Floella Benjamin
Actress and author Baroness Floella Benjamin embraced color in this full red suit with a matching bag, shoes, and jacket. She then paired the outfit with red jewels and a pink floral fascinator.
British sports presenter Denise Lewis also said yes to color in this Barbie-pink look. She paired bright pink pants and matching turtleneck shirt with a checkered pink and white houndstooth jacket.
British singer-songwriter Alexandra Burke looked radiant at the event in this crisp double-breasted white suit with black buttons.
