Ed Balls apologises for 't**t' remark on GMB, despite warning from Susanna Reid

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid appeared to be totally done with her co-star Ed Balls after he swore live on-air.

During Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV morning show, the former Labour minister, 56, and Susanna, 52, reminisced the time EastEnders actor Danny Dyer made a memorable impression.

‘We do love Danny Dyer on this programme,’ she began.

‘He caused quite a stir didn’t he when he was talking about Brexit.’

Ed curiously asked: ‘I was here, he used the T word, are we allowed to say that this early?’

Although Susanna stressed that the expletive was on the Ofcom list, that didn’t stop the former Strictly Come Dancing star from trying his luck.

‘So you can’t say t**t?’ he said.

Susanna, donning a classic mum look, quickly quipped: ‘You do know we are on air don’t you?’

Ed replied: ‘I apologise, then. I didn’t mean to say that. I am sorry I didn’t know.’

Viewers were also in shock over the blunder, with one person writing: ‘Ed “so you can’t use the ‘T’ word?”, ‘No’ responds Suzanna, “So I can’t say T**t?”, responds Ed. Oh Edmond.’

Another added: ‘Ed quoting Danny Dyer calling the Tories t***s …… “What you cant say twat on telly!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 #gmb TV gold.’

It came after Susanna cheekily confessed: ‘I am nervous about what you are going to say.’

Ed joked: ‘Please be supportive!’

In Tuesday’s episode of GMB, Ed detailed the impact of his stammer on his broadcast work.

He said: ‘I didn’t think that you could have therapy if you’re a politician, and certainly not admit to it.

‘But I did when I was a cabinet minister.

‘And actually, all the advice was you have to go and talk about it publicly because that is the thing that will make the difference and that is true, but I don’t think I believed that.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
