Strong winds are part of a deadly winter storm, whipping the East Coast

A huge storm covered some parts of the Northeast with up to seven inches of snow and forested areas to the south, heavy rain and deadly flooding, wind energy from Georgia to New England continued through Monday.

Blackouts, falling trees and dangerous road conditions can ruin daily life and disrupt travel plans.
