Trudeau’s Trudeau threatened to “immediately respond” to the U.S. tariff
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau threatened 25 % tariffs on Canadian goods on Saturday, threatening “strong and direct response”.
Trudeau wrote on X on Friday: “No one-I hope to see the US tariffs on Canadian goods on both sides of the border.”
Trudeau said: “I met our Canada-American Council today. We are trying to prevent these tariffs, but if the United States moves forward, Canada can make a strong and direct response.”
The White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Friday that the tariffs of Canada and Mexico will take effect on Saturday and impose a 10 % tariff on Chinese products.
